ABOUT US

VAI Capital was founded to address opportunities in sustainable transport and renewable energy. VAI Capital was selected by the Spring 2020 cohort of the International Climate Finance Accelerator programme for emerging fund managers and has benefited from the support of international donor and partner organisations in delivering its mobility and renewable energy research and advisory work. .

John Tidmarsh

John Tidmarsh founded VAI Capital in 2020. John has worked on the design, structuring, marketing and / or management of funds, amongst other the “Stellar” VC fund in partnership with the European Space Agency and the “SCF” climate infrastructure fund (a partnership between Arnold Schwarzenegger’s NGO R20 and Pegasus Capital). Previously John was a Director at EY and held management roles at Swicorp investment bank and multinational De La Rue. John has three degrees from the University of Cambridge

James Tidmarsh

James Tidmarsh is VAI Capital’s general counsel. James is a partner at Tidmarsh & Associés, a boutique law firm based in Paris that specializes in international commercial litigation and arbitration. He has over 30 years of practice representing clients in disputes involving infrastructure, energy, mining, and commodities projects across Europe, the US, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. James is licensed to practice law in Paris, New York, England and Wales, the Republic of Ireland, and the British Virgin Islands. James studied at the University of Geneva and New York University

Yoshi Nomura

Yoshi Nomura co-founded VAI Capital. Yoshi was a part of the team that span-off the renewable energy investment arm of Japanese Conglomerate IDI Infrastructures, creating The Photon Group, an integrated energy infrastructure investment firm, which is currently investing its fourth fund. Previously Yoshi worked at Conduit Energy, where he invested a fund specialised in fuel cells and alternative energy studied at Keio and University of Cambridge.

Michael Hidary

Michael Hidary co-founded VAI Capital. Michael founded Samba Energy, an energy efficiency and solar installation business, and has advised on energy and e-mobility projects for public and private sector clients, including developing Hertz’s electric vehicle offering. Since 2007 Michael invests for the Hidary Family office and Foundation and is an LP in Hidrock Properties. Michael studied at Babson College and Bar-Ilan University
